is this game worth buying? or is it more of a rental game?

Well, that's up to you. From what I know at this point it's about 20 - 25 hours in length. It brags that you never have the same game experience twice, which is supposed to make you want to play it again and again (although I'd imagine one more play through is all you'd need). There are a few choices to be made that will change the outcome (or, at least, one major one). So, again, I'd say most people will want to play through it twice.

Most often I base game purchases vs. game rentals based on the time needed to complete it. That's why I've given you that info first. If you're wondering if the game is good enough to buy, I'd say definitely. Car1 and I have already cracked up about the amount of time we've spent reminiscing over the 20 minute demo. It's just that good.

Then, of course, are the handful of "perfect" reviews the game has received:

You must be one of the special few that got their hands on a copy before it's release from Toys R Us or other places. For this I hate you.

You probably won't get much answers to questions until after next Tuesday when the game is actually out. So, hold in there Myotherfishy.

Hi!

I have a problem with Bioshock (no spoilers included) ; I'm stuck where you need to find a 4-digit code for an elevator; In-game walkthrough says the code is in a Paparazzi Diary on 3rd floor but I can't get to 3rd floor since the stairway has been demolished and there is no other way (except for the elevator which can't be opened without a code)

There is however on 2nd floor an apartment where there is a stairway to a room to 3rd floor but there is nothing there and you can't exit that room.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Myotherfishy, I don't know of an essence that turn you into a big daddy, but I have an essence that hypnotises the big daddy to make him protect you, I bought an upgrade (2) from an Adam machine. However, don't expect him to protect you all the time since he only attacks if someone attacks you, so, buy alot of health kits :)

EDIT EDIT: Myotherfishy, to become a Big Daddy you must find 3 suit parts (helmet, boots (in the library) and suit), 3 pheromone bottles (2 on 1st floor, 1 on ground floor) and after you complete these 2 objectives you must make your voice sound like a Big Daddy's;

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Sorry for this post, I found out that I had the Paparazzi's diary all along :)

how do you get into the room off the glass tunnel that is just before the room where the guy seals his escape with debris. i think that's steinman. there are two entrances to the room i'm talking about. one is off the glass tunnel, and the other is off the room just before the glass tunnel.

We're not there yet. We'll answer when we do get there...OR, perhaps someone else can answer your question. However, with all of that being said, it would be much appreciated if you didn't double post your questions. Also, for now, we're going to try to keep all of these questions in one thread. If it gets to be too large of a thread, we'll change it...but, for now I'm going to lock this question as you've already asked it in the 'BioShock' Help Thread.

It'll open in due time. It's just not accessible until after you deal with Steinman. And, for future questions, please post them in the BioShock Help Thread.

HELP I'm stuck and gettin frustrated, Im in for frolic trying to get into the fleet hall so i go into the lil cafee dinner thing and im stopped by a door that wont open, and on the other side of the door is a vending mechine and to the left is a turret, it i go upstairs i find Sander Cohen's special room with him inside but i cant get in that either, so i've hit a literal wall and dont know what to do

We're not there yet, but will your Telekinesis or another power help you to get through the door?
