After drooling over the upcoming lineup for the 360 for a while (Too Human, Mass Effect, Bioshock, all the others I know there are but just can't think up right now), I went out yesterday and purchased myself my very own Xbox 360. I also got Shadowrun, which is a very fun online multiplayer FPS (though, I have only been on Live with it twice.. the bot matches are a blast still. ha). However, with this purchase (at Toys R Us) they had it to get two (2) free games out of a choice of 3. Spiderman 3, Viva Pinata, and Fuzion Frenzy 2. I went in mind to get Spiderman 3 and Viva Pinata, but they were apparently sold out of Viva Pinata (What the hell?). Anyway, I decided to keep Spiderman 3 and play it since it's at least remotely fun, but Fuzion Fenzy 2 just looks aweful so I haven't even opened yet. I'm going to go to a different place and see if I can exchange on the clause that I got it as a gift (hey, it was a gift with the 360) and I didn't get a reciept.

Anyway, the point off all that is what game right now is the must have game out there on the 360.

I have already played and beated (twice!) Gears of War on co-op with my friend so we'll exclude that game for now.

So, any game other than
Shadowrun
Gears of War
Spiderman 3 (would anyone actually recommand that game here? I hope not)
EDIT: Lost Planet
EDIT: Dead Rising

EDIT: My friend with the 360 has Dead Rising and Gears of War, and a guy at work has Lost Planet all of which I'm sure I'd have no problem with borrowing. So, exclude Dead Rising and Lost Planet as well

What is that must have game?

(PS, My gametag is what you'd expect [also in sig])

I'm always a fan of Project Gotham Racing games. I don't even like racing games, but this one is addicting.

I'm playing Call of Juarez right now and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Also has a great multiplayer. Otherwise, some Elder Scrolls or Double Agent might suit you well. I played the Shadowrun demo and it seemed pretty cool, but since it's multiplayer only, well, there's really no reason for me to play it.

Personally, I'm a Gears, Lost Planet, Call of Juarez, PGR kind of guy for the 360. Spider-Man 3 was fun, but you won't be missing anything by not playing it.

Oh, and I accepted your friend invite today.

Yeah, I'll see if I can borrow Lost Planet from my friend at work in eventually. I'm leaning toward Rainbow Six: Vegas at the moment though. I'm still looking though. Crackdown also looks pretty fun. Thoughts on those two?

I've heard good things about Rainbow Six, but haven't played it. I did play Crackdown. It is definitely a renter. It is very fun in an over-the-top super human kind of way, but it gets old quickly. Still, collecting orbs has never been so fun. If you're bored, or see it on the used/sale rack due to the massive amount of them that were recently returned after the Halo 3 beta ended, then I'd pick it up. Don't spend more than $25 on it, though.

I added you. We enjoyed Crackdown. I liked Kameo, which you could get fairly cheap now. I've had fun plaiyng Guitar Hero 2 and Viva Pinata. I suppose it depends on the types of games you like. I liked Prey and Condemned also, both of those should be fairly cheap now since they've been out for a long time. TMNT, is a renter, we bought it for Ethan and pretty much finished it in a short while. If you have a gold account look for games that are for live, otherwise it's probably best to rent the ones that aren't on live. I also played Ninetly Nine Nights, it's mostly a button mashing game, but it's alright. So as far as what to definitely buy, of course go with Viva Pinata, it's been so much fun, and I can see us still playing it for a while (Ethan and I at least). Daryl played Chromehounds for a while, it was interesting, but then Gears of War came out and he hasn't played Chromehounds since then. We have a lot of the arcade games, and right now Mad Tracks has been a lot of fun.

If I got to sit down and play any Xbox 360 game (and not write a walkthrough for it) I'd be all over Viva Pinata. Just today I read an article somewhere about how it's been one of the greatest gaming crimes that more people haven't played it. It's another one that was tragically missed due to a holiday season release.

Yeah, i was pretty sad, and shocked frankly, that it was sold out when I went for it as one of the two free games. Not enough to want to still get it oddly enough, but still.

I have my neighbors kids addicted to it also, they assumed it'd be boring and easy and kiddie, but it actually takes some strategy and work. I'm sure with the cartoon show still going strong, and the introduction of toys, birthday party suplies and halloween costumes this fall, more kids will be sucked in. I thought it was going to be like animal crossing, so I was sure I might get bored with it after a short while, and it's not like that. I mean sure its similar in the type of game it is, but it's got so much more to it. Ethan loves it, though he can't focus long on trying for one type of pinata, since something else will interest him and he'll go for another type. The acheivements are fairly easy to get, Ethan has 42 out of 50, almost all of those he received with minimal help.

We just got Forza 2 and the racing wheel, so far Daryl seems to like it all, I tried to finish a race that he was going to restart and I didn't like it might, mainly the force feedback on the wheel, it was pretty strong (and I'm too short to reach the pedals where he had them, lol). I'm not big into racing games though. You can get the Burger King games, I saw our goodwill had the whole set really cheap, those are somewhat entertaining, and at 3-4 bucks a game it's not too bad. I know they're really cheesy games, but they're addicting. Amped 3 was kinda cool if you like snowboarding games. Oh and Lego Star Wars II, you gotta get/rent that! We had a lot of fun playing that! Perfect Dark Zero wasn't too bad either.

I absolutely loved Crackdown.

Guitar Hero II is also a must because it makes you feel like you are a musician.

Ghost Recon 2 has an awesome multiplayer and Halo 3 will be out soon.

Call of Duty 2 is amazing and should be pretty cheap by now. CoD3 is good too, but not nearly as good as 2. if you enjoy racing games, Forza 2, PGR, and Dirt are must-haves.

edit - lol wow this topic is old.

Game recommendations are always welcome.

And... long time no see, if you are the same person from years past.

PGR4 is coming out this week...or next. PGR games are my favorite of all racing games. This new version has motorcycles. Booya! (or should I say Kudos!).

Yes, that would be me. Long time no see yourself. :)

Didn't know PGR4 was coming out so soon. This fall is so chock full of games it's sick. Eternal Sonata tomorrow, Halo 3 next week, Orange Box in October, Mass Effect and CoD4 in November, gah...you two are gonna be busy with guides I imagine?
