This thread will serve as the official Lunabean "Halo 2" help thread.

Always check the Halo 2 Strategy Guide first to see if your question can be answered there. I know there isn't much on that page right now, but over the next week or so, it'll be where the rough-draft of the strategy guide will be placed.

So, ask away you covenant bastards!

I don't remember a cutscene with a giant octopus, so I must not be there yet.

Have you gotten to driving vehicles yet? I'm trying to figure out where you are. Have you had to cut any cables yet?

yeah ive gotten to the driving and i have cut those cables and scared that one elite out and killed him. i'm pretty far past that. i found out that all i had to do was replay from last checkpoint and then i redid that part and i got it. but now i'm stuck again.... there are two flying elites and i only have a bean rifle and a brute shot :| and that doesn't do the trick. so basicly i just need a stragety guide.. if you know of a place i can get one for free online that would be awsome.

**SPOILER**(don't know if i should say that or not so i'll be safe and say it)

when master chief falls into the water and that "thing" picks him up thats the giant octopus. you don't really see it except for the tenticle but after the level where your an elite and the brute pushes you to your "doom" the octopus catches him also and thats where the cutscene begines i wont spoil what they say in it though

Yeah, I think that I'm pretty close to that point. I'm currently clearing landing zones for various Pelicans in the ruins area. I'll get back to you when I pick it up again tomorrow.

A couple of dual-wield plasma rifles would be handy, just keep going at them.

I'm stuck in the library, it's too dark and there are too many flood. If I run out of ammo I don't have time to pick up a new weapon before I get bitch-slapped and killed.

haha i got stuck there for a while also. i just kept running through and didn't try to kill all of them only the ones that 1) carged me while i'm running and 2) the ones that followed me. hope that helps.

right now i'm stuck at the second second (or third can't remember) where your an elite. you start off with a plasma rifle you see him picking up in the cutscene and when you walk further you get a sword. this level if chock full of brutes and those "guards" and most of them have brute shots. i killed a few around the first corner and duel weilded brute plasma rifles- are they more powerful than the regular ones or do they just look cooler?- so anyway the next corner is full of them will brute shots and some are up high. i can't kill them i just die.

If you're talking about the two hunters in the ruined city you can use the turret gun on the balcony/2nd-level. When they bust through the gate just Grill into them.

And, I've started the walkthrough, so I'm playing from the beginning again. I won't be able to work on it today, but starting tomorrow, that's all I'm going to do.

Trance, you are my point man for questions today.

just run!!! run through the whole thing and kill only the flood that charge at you and then when you have reached a spot with no flood wait and see if any followed you. if they did kill them. keep running and if your shields run out then find a spot hidden and wait.

edit: how did i get warned and who did it?

The best weapon to use to fight the Flood is a Shotgun. Most will take one shell, the larger ones will take two. With some patience, however, you'll get through them.

The shotgun seems less powerful than in original Halo, I personally prefer the Covenent energy sword for fighting the larger flood. The brute plasma rifle is still my favourite weapon though.

The Shotgun is actually more powerful than in the original Halo from what I've seen. The reason it seems less powerful is that it has a way worse range now and it's got a lot slower reload time.

I also like the Energy Sword except for the fact that the battery runs out incredibly quickly.

And yeah, the Brute Plasma Rifle is good, but if I'm using Covenant weapons I prefer dual-wielding Needlers.

Hey, I just rented Halo 2, and I've finished quite a large chunk of it. Regarding innovation wise; in the campaigne mode, only a few minor innovations, but what I think Bungie emphasized on was the Live! portion of Halo 2. I have to say, playing Halo 2 at some points were a little dull, mostly (or all) the Elite maps. Nevertheless, it is still an invigorating game, gameplay is by far, up there, but some points do get repetetive.

For the Flood maps, avoiding them is the best strategy, otherwise you could spend all day doing target practice on The Flood. I like to make a run for it, then use my Active Camo, and avoid The Flood as much as possible.

The Plasma Sword, I think is the coolest (and one of the best weapons) in the game.

I like dual-wielding the SMGs just because I love peppering enemies. Lots of fun there.

The Battle Rifle is somehwhat good, but I thought it could have been a lot better if you could switch between burst and single shot.

I'm currently stuck on level Gravemind, where near the end there's this big, circular room with a load of Royal Brutes, Spec-op elites, and about 6 hunters. Objective is to (Spoiler?) "Stop the prophet of truth from boarding his phantom". The door at the opposite end where 2 hunters come out locks after it closes, and I can't figure out how to progress pass this room (it has this large chair-looking thing floating above a glowing endless shaft in the middle of the room). If the answer is to kill everything, I have absolutely no idea how I could possibly kill 8 spec-op elites + 6 hunters...

Get up close to Regret and you'll get a message in the upper left-hand corner of your screen that says "Hold X to board ____." At that point, hold X and you'll get on Regret's pod thing and you can then melee him to death.
