Yeah, I'm fully expecting a long line. Two years ago, for Vice City, we waited about 45 minutes to get it. Still, worth the wait. We'll probably get home around 8 or 8:30 our time after we grab some dinner. Then, it's chaos all night!
Homies!!!!!!!!

Great, just great. The flight came in late and they won't have it until 8 or 8:30. Mutha F**ker!

OK, we're going to hit the road, grab our first ever Quiznos subs, and then get the game which is expected to be in by 8:00pm. We'll report back.

This is going to be a good game. It's a bit overwhelming right now trying to figure out the city, camera angles, icons, and the map, but the gameplay and controls feel right at home. I'm having no trouble driving.
So far I've gotten a hair cut, worked out a little, eaten some food, killed lots of people, run around a bit and generally done about 5-8 missions.
The whole "stats meters" thing is interesting. You have meters for stamina, fat, respect, sex appeal, etc. Six in all...I can't remember all of them right now. But, you work out and you're muslcle mass increases. You ride a bike or run around and you lose fat and gain stamina. Pretty cool. They seem to have made this a part of the game, but not a vital part, which is nice. An added feature without being annoying. Al and I think the in-game left corner map is bad. They chose bad colors for the icons, and yes, part of it is our TV, but past GTA's haven't been as bad on the same TV.
This is going to be a fun game. We're just scratching the surface now.
Oh, and perfectly terrible GTA cutscene graphics. Yay.

don't play it too much (all day for weeks on end), it will Slow Cook the map onto your $1500 flatscreen TV. or so I hear.
or onto our $249 3 year old Philips 27 inch TV. So, I'm not really worried about it. But, I could see how the lower left corner map would do that.

Yeah, my friend picked this game up the other night and I simply watched him play it for a few hours. I didn't even feel compelled to play, I just wanted to watch. It was really awesome, though. This one seems to be the most mature however, in regards to language and even the violence as well, but it also seems like the very best. Everything has something to it. The unarmed fighting involves blocking and swinging different kinds of punches, kicks, jabs, etc. I also hear you can learn different styles of fighting. The stat system was awesome too. You drive around for a while, you get better at it. You ride a bike, you get better at it, AND you gain stamina and muscle.
Awesome.
Awesome.

the game rocks...i like all the new additions. it feels a bit weird, not as sharp / crisp as vice city but i like it still
being able to swim and get ones hair cut is cool :P
the one thing i am pissed about is that you have to use the analogue stick to move the character. i hated that in the getaway....ahwell...just takes a bit of getting used to i guess

I just got the game yesterday, didn't have to wait long to get it. So far, I've found out if you go into a bar, you can play pool and it's a one or two player! And you can pay video games that are in the convience stores and at C.J.'s house. The cheat for cars on water works the same as in V.C.! but it seems that the cops cars also float, chasing you. I tried it to get to another island to check it out and my wanted stars went up to four. Now I have to go and play some more. This game is HUGE!!!

Ha ha! This game's made me dust of the old PS2. It's hilarious seeing GTA's take on my home town. They have "Idlewood" which is supposed to be Inglewood if I'm not mistaken. The Watts Towers are also there....it's funny & cool. Anyhow, I like the direction of this game. Can't say the same about Vice City. But overall, I'm happy with this game! :jester:
